My 25th Dance: Can’t Fight the Moonlight

My 25th dance was an unforgettable experience, set to the iconic song "Can’t Fight the Moonlight" from the movie Coyote Ugly. For this routine, I took on the role of a singer, fully embracing the vibe and energy of the performance. It was a special number for me, and it also felt magical, as if I truly stepped into the shoes of a performer on stage.

The choreography was designed to complement the theme of the movie, and I had to pretend to sing the lyrics—which meant learning the first couple of lines by heart. This extra step really helped me embody the character, and it must have worked because someone in the audience exclaimed, "No way!" I think they

genuinely thought I was singing for real—what a compliment! Ha ha.

A highlight of the routine was when I pulled a "guy out of the crowd," who was actually my instructor, to join me. After pulling my instructor out of the crowd, we did our dance while I pretended to sing. It added an

interactive element to the

performance and brought a spark of fun and surprise to the audience. I felt like a true entertainer, connecting with the viewers and drawing them into the moment.

This dance holds a special place in my heart, not only because of the song and theme but also because it challenged me to step out of my comfort zone and take on a new role. Looking back, I’m so glad I went for it, and I’ll always cherish the memories of feeling like a star under the spotlight.
